In the Bible, John’s gospel, Jesus sets out seven declarations, each beginning with the phrase “I am.” Collectively, these statements present a special perspective of Jesus, illustrating how he influences various aspects of our daily lives, including our struggles, fears, questions, hopes, and dreams. The writer of the Gospel of Joh is not interested so much in the man, Jesus of Nazareth, like the other three gospels, as he is in the exalted Christ. This week: Who is Jesus?
